I know because I have lived that tension.
I have prayed over plans I had already decided to pursue. I have asked God to bless ambitions I had not fully surrendered. I have given generously, tried to lead well, and used Christian language while quietly protecting the outcome I wanted. Maybe you know that tension too.
You genuinely love Jesus.
You want your company to honor Him.
You care about your employees, your family, and your community.
But underneath all of that, there may still be a question you rarely say out loud:
AM I ACTUALLY FOLLOWING JESUS—OR AM I ASKING HIM TO FOLLOW ME?
The greatest danger for many Christian leaders is not public failure. It is building a respected, generous, publicly Christian life in which Jesus is present—but not truly central. I am not asking that question from the finish line because I am still learning how to live it. (Philippians 3:12-14)
